Penning again...

Today, meeting a long ago friend, makes me write again,
It awakens a forgotten strain..

It tumults my mind
Takes me to the long forgotten self and a circle of old friend

Takes me to the good carefree times then,
The loved place, the cherished time, the unbreakable bonds - Amen!

Rejigs who i was,
Realisation that how life has changed today and old memory thaws..
Reminds me that I used to love to pen,
A very long long ago then...

I dont regret who i am today or all that past,
Just not the 2 year bit in the last..
That took away all that i loved,
All known shaky and a lot questioned,
Shook me to the core,
The darkness through which I had to find my way back alone to the shore..

I thought that i had found myself again,
Realise that there's still some path to gain,
Life's changed for good and aint all that sad,
Its just these forgotten li'l trends...not bad!!

So one of them, today I begin again,
It brings a calmness to me,like the sweet balming rain!
So cheers to the old loved bonds again,
and a life thats not crazy but sane!!!

On meeting an MBA college friend

Goan Frenzy..

Goan Frenzy…

The sun and the sand
Long long away from the freezing homeland
Landed we all there
so as to kick off a new business year

Began with the work sum up
Questions asked - what the heck up?
Meeting and greeting the new boss
Old one leaving, said folks, was a loss
For me all was new
No benchmark for me; unlike others who knew
The number crunch
after the lunch
The presentations and summations
Before the night’s musical wannabe sensation

The water the surf the heat
The vodka gin and the odd music beat
Old team folks met
The stage was set
A lil cha cha did the ice breaking
The humour and the mimicry got the rest cracking
Felt like a part
Though still miles apart
Loads of fun
After setting of the sun

Morning cycle on the beach
Water on the feet, amazingly in reach
Later Sunset on the shore
After work fun galore
Late night sessions and the excitement of it all
Knowing new folks and meeting old pals

Soon everyone leaving and moving
To a different destination
A lil farther of land in the same Goan nation
The second retreat was with a different charter
Heard and met many with a different perspective…all much sought after
Dravid charmed the most
with his earthiness and the wall attitude that was utmost
Empathizing with the Emcee dearie who looked a lil lost
Earned me pun and remarks that cost
Boss spoke his few lines,
Creative, more than just fine!!

Different times in a different zone
Realised that red stole many a hearts as bright it had shown
New peers I gotto know
Old Bosses were busy as usual, amongst all that show
Night times were with frenzied music
Some techno n some Bollywood hipshake
Hair let down, Heart to hearts on
Boys were boys and had all d fun
Connected better with all, formed a better bond
Of the new place, a lil more fond
Some new beginnings made whilst the drinks with lime
Some unfinished thoughts, unspoken unsaid for the next time
The place has got some good guns
And is not all only fun
Need to crack the business number code
The team to move together to lighten the joint load

Many goodbyes and Au revoir later
I fondly pen those few days of the frenzied fun…to read and revisit again the Goan theatre…

Cheers

Meena Bazaar of the new age

What is the best thing about being in a CP office?

Believe me it is not the PVR nor the restaurants here that match up to something else that is here – JANPATH.

It is a small lane which has shops lined up on both the sides, selling a mound of stuff. From clothes, shoes, slippers, junk jewelry to books, watches, bags, belts, vases, flowers and all the other jing bangs you can think of! All of this stuff very “in” fashion and very kooooool for the pocket. Warning: the place is not for the brand freaks.

Well you can say it’s a girls’ paradise.
( It was totally boring with two of the guy friends I went there with, they just couldn’t understand the concept!!!)

What is its charm? How do I explain?

Well imagine then a group of gals, chattering non stop and shopping together. Hopping from one shop to the other and checking out the different variety of the trendy, hot, sober, formal, hip, short long clothes. Looking for tops, t shirts, jaipuri kurtas or the long frilly frocks. Or trying to match the junk jewelry with the clothes just shopped. The shop to shop mix of both Indian and western styles. A girl can look as western as she wants and the foreigners can look as Indian as they like. The fun part is not only the shopping, but the bargaining as well, you can say less than 50% of the price and get the item for it. So the winner is the one who can bargain the most! Then after all that hopping and shopping, you can hog on the spicy sprouted moong ki daal ka chat or have a biiiiig papad to munch on. Or relish the patty burger type of snacks and a cool milk shake from the shop just behind the bazaar.

It’s a total “gals day out” kind of hang out. You can say the new day Meena Bazaar (a bazaar for the queens n princesses of Lal quila in the old times).
I have been there almost every fortnight in my graduation and now again that I m here so near to it, I went there with my internship pals. It was more fun than ever.

A simple place, with no frills, perfect for hanging out and having fun.
Ideal for the gurls to catch up on life, boy friends, movies and the vagaries beyond.

Sachchi yeh kahani hei.....

Friends, Drinks, Party, Sleep, Chor & Chori, "hero catches him", n Public ki Maar Police arrives late, takes the thief away!!!

Well if this sequence seems bollywood movie types, then to your surprise, it aint! A real life incident that just happens to have happened to 4 of my very own classmates of VGSOM!

The cast of the movie: Samrat Chauhan, Pravin Choudhary, Vishal Mittal and our very own CR-Kavnish Gupta.

Living in a PG in kolkatta, on one of the dry dull weekend Saturdays of the internship, they decide to have a Guys type Daaru paty. They arrange their choice of liquor and but the landlord comes sniffing. The guys are in biiiiiiig trouble, but try not to show it( after all a manager in how ever tough a situation has learn to bluff to the client that all is ok! This skill sure came in handy). He looks around all corners of the room and searches with a biiiiiig floodlight. The stuff is right at his feet, and he doesn't find it somehow (bollywoood screaming!)

Well he finally he goes but not before a warning. The chums decide to wait for some time before they got started with the party. The party is as usual, rounds of liquor, snacks, music, "dil ki baatein", cribs about vagaries of life, how fair or unfair it is and well until 4 am. After that time to stop, tomorrows office people! So by 5 am it is all wrapped up and soon they are fast asleep. But some time after Pravin hears someone roaming around the room.

He says "Koun hei be? Abhi se kyun uth gaya, IBM thode na jana hie, so jaa, wahan waise bhi kounsa kaam hei!!!". It is Kavnish. He has to atone for the "vella" time spent at IBM, and hence has to visit the ISCKON temple. So he tells Pravin, that he is leaving for the temple, its 7am. Some time after, again Pravin is woken up by some footsteps. Hes like, "Abe abhi tak gaya nahi kya and mere laptop ke sath kya kar raha hie tu?". He gets no reply. He turns and faces the person and tries to open his eyes a wink. He sees the person is lot more short in height than the favorite CR. He opens his eyes a little more. His half sleep brain does a quick face matching and finds out it's not one of his flat mates. He is wiiiiiiide awake, realizing that it's a thief who's trying to run away with his loved Laptop. He grabs the thief (lucky for Pravin that the thief is thinner than him). He asks the others to wake up and quick. Half asleep, Samrat and Vishal are asking him what is the urgency, it aint 9 am yet. Pravin mentions the word "thief". They are up and out of bed. They triad hold him and make him sit down on the floor. Sam stands guard (after all he is the Haryanvi Jat, known for strength!). Pravin goes in to call the Landlord. He comes and so does the aas paas ke kholi wali junta! Seeing the thief, they are all in rage. Well now that the public is there, they all start beating the thief up. All their lives' frustrations being taken out on the poor thief. More public joins in. The triad is just standing there, a spectator, no indulging in beating (the soft hearted souls don't believe in beating up the goon). The "junta" some how lays hands on leather belt lying on a table nearby. Thief gets beaten up all the more; he is still denying the theft charges. He somehow manages to convince Vishal that he had just come to collect some donation money for some foundation and had no intentions of theft. Well whatever, police is called for and arrives as always, at the end. Police takes the thief away. The public sees no more use for their karate skills, so the crowd thins off. Landlord told the triad to be a little more careful in future.

Pravin is the HERO of the day. He is happy and proud of himself.

Just then Kavnish enters and says,"what is all the commotion about; people are talking about some thief?" Hmmpph. They all brief him up and now Kavnish is scared, thief and in their PG, lest he comes again, for a revenge with more of his mates. None of the others are interested. They are way too sleepy and well back to sleep soon. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

THE END

Well I think no one made the report for summers and discussion on the incident took rest of their weekend.

Illusions - Book Review

I read “ILLUSIONS” by Richard Bach yesterday.

It talks about that in our lives everything we see is an illusion, all that happened or is happening or will happen is a myth that we create for our own selves. It is what we want it to be, happy, sad, too much work, no work, idle, meaningful, useless, whatever we think/imagine it to be, it is that. And when we can understand that we can change the events that shape up in our lives, we can walk on water, we can drown on solid land, get any thing to float and ok any one with diseases, because the world is what we think it to be. If we think the diseased to be healthy, he will become so. If we think water to be solid we will be able to walk on it and so forth. And death is just a state of transition from the current time space to the other. Magic tricks by magician is not anything else but an illusion.

Written well yes, stimulating, but not quite. Seems like a story only. It verges on the category of fiction and preaching. Had it meant to be in the fiction category it would have included more of miracles and stuff called illusions. He tries to guide in that direction, but not quite. So I didn’t get what exactly is this American author here trying to say? Is he trying to give the long seen abilities in the Asian yogis, a logic? Or is he justifying all the unexplained. In that I don’t think he succeeds. Is he trying to write just a story or is there a moral or way of life preaching in it? That he might succeed to some extent. And how is it that the American n other western skeptic audience believing it?

All in all, has moral some teachings in it, but the messiah concept for everyone or for even one-seems to me a bit too stretched.

The train journey begins…

The train journey begins…

A few hours after the midnight,

I stand at the door and look out,

Cool air blows through my hair,

Fresh n pure,

Gentle like someone specials care.

Unfolds before my eyes a carpet of green

Unending……

As far it can be seen,

Horizoned by a white foggy layer.

Half dark half lit up,

With the world just waking up,

The serenity not breaking,

Jus their sleep…

The birds waking up from their nest,

Leaving in pursuit of the days food quest,

Scarecrows to do away with the pests,

Flies by a white fawn,

A white lotus in the small pond decorates the dawn,

Oh Unending beauty,

Pure, deep and untouched.

Doesn’t cease to amaze me

N I drink on the beautiful sights

Like a thirsty child…..

moving on...

One fine day,
We all have to move on,
Move on in life..
Still we are hesitant to embrace,
     Embrace the impending change….

The unknown future holds us back,
     The uncertainty factor looms big,
We keep holding on to our present,
Cling on to it till the very end ….

“Change is a part of life,
Whatever we do, wherever we go….”

The earlier we accept this fact,
The better we will cope with change,
Change - that will take us on a better path…

But knowing all this and more,
     We still hesitate and resist
Being used to and comfortable in our present,
We delay taking the very necessary-
Our first BIG STEP towards CHANGE !!!!!!!

The Transition

Sometimes you linger on,
N stagger when you have to move on,
The moments spent with the people u know tie you down,
n you think of d times when you wont be there with a sad frown !!
But then one day,
Suddenly you wake up with clarity in mind,
That tells you that now you are ready to -
Move on…
The path may be unknown,
The people new & strangers as yet,
But your mind is set,
N the heart beckons ahead…
On the new journey,
That waits to be tread.
The ties & the bonds that held you back,
Are still as dear as before,
But somehow they don't hold u back now,
N u r ready to bid them adieu as u move away from the shore…
As you lift your step from the past,
And before you reach into the next lane; your future,
The crossing of that line-
Where the transition takes place...
The no man zone- Where you have,
A tear for the people you are moving away from,
N a sparkle in the eyes for the challenges that lie ahead.
Enthusiasm fills your heart as you start on the new path,
Along with a sweet lament for the friends you go away from your recent past…
That emotional crossover,
The signal from the heart n the mind,
That u awaken to
On one fine day,
Before you finally move on…
Is the FINAL TRANSITION
From your today,
To your future reposition...

I wanna...

I wanna go out and play under the sun
I wanna listen to a load full of songs
I wanna enjoy things that are fun
N I wanna sit n talk n listen to a friend for hours at end

I wanna enjoy the beautiful sunset on d hostel terrace
I wanna have a walk along the recently rain washed road
I wanna walk at my own pace
N I wanna listen to the ocean

I wanna play with a lil child n see the innocent smile
I wanna njoi wind in my hair n slight rain on my face
I wanna tread along with a friend in sight n away by a mile
N I wanna sleep……

A long peaceful sleep …
With a friends shoulder to rest upon,
Knowing that all will be taken care of,
N that I today I can be carefree…

Class of 2008

College ends or will end soon
And we all would be scattered
Like seeds sown in a field
Each with ones growth path and ones’ own destiny
Some would grow alongside, some would go far away
The only thing left to link would be the tree
That gave us a bond to continue for life

Distances would grow
And so will the life’s complexity
Amidst that some would still link up
Some would be lost forever in the busy-ness
Pain n Joy, memories of the times spent together
And a long long wait
Till the life’s path cross for some of us
To make us share a moment together
A happy moment again
N then the journey again

So goes the saga of friendship
Generation after generation
I wish my life hits again n again this beautifully carved ship
That brings along such unconditional love, care & inspiration.

CRAZY MOMENTS……..

When you wake up at 6 30 am, after sleeping at 430am;
On your own without the alarm shrieking in your ears,
There has to be something wrong with you or you have to be going through mba exams
Well with me it’s the latter…
Getting up at 6 30 is one thing but taking it to be 8 30 am after reading a digital clock is entirely insane…
N then thinking oh hell exam in half an hour n also “oh hell minimum threshold course left :-o !!!” – is the height of craziness insanity n panic n funny later on!!

Well having gone through it myself, I can say all this ..

N you know what, realizing after 2 minutes that hey its only 6 30 am n 6 30 is actually 2 hours away from 830 am n you are on time n you can still do a minimum threshold course to pass is a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig relief. Believe me it is …n later on you are able to laugh on it also.

That was POM (Production n operations management) paper.
P.S. :I didn’t sleep in the exam.

N Today it was OSD (organizational structure n design).
N alarm or phone was ringing, n it was my dad calling in, n I was like hell I slept from 7 to 7:45am. How cud I??? – chalo at least course left is only half n more n so doable ..
But hey my dad decided to call in late n the actual time is 8 15am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why, why me??
I managed to that course left in d 10 odd minutes left.
But kya fayda – paper to out of course aaya!!

Anyways I will try n do better time n sleep management next time – I promise.

Oh shucks – my legs are crossed!!!!!!

Musings in d balcony...

Some things I realize,
As I stand in the hostel room balcony,
Under the star lit sky,
N into the past my mind does fly.

Time has moved along,
N today it sings a different song,
Life is a mesh of times present n bygone,

Each day before it arrives,
Has passed away,
That’s the pace at which my life now does sway…
Each day I discover new goals,
As I meet new souls,
Unknown n mixed feelings with every new face,
Many new entrants in my life’s small world’s space.
Beginning of formation of trust,
In life today many new thrusts.

My memory isn’t jaded,
The people from past, haven’t faded.
Times make me miss them too…
In the rare times spent with self, I go back down the memory lane;
N cherish the enchanting times spent with them too.

But an attachment to this life also has begun
New seeds sown,
Small roots grown,
And deepening is the hearts bonds’ strength…
As relations grow in depth..

Small moments..
Lunches, Dinners parties N b’day bashes
Photo shoots n the stories of mosquito rashes
Beach Jaunts, train journeys, coffee breaks,
Chats, walks n IP sessions, n d assignments fake.
All add to the charm,
Make it a memorable journey,special n warm..

An amalgam between novel n old,
A beautiful collage life's today, one to be felt, not to be told...

Kgp Rains...

So refreshing
So pure
Tingling
Saying hello ever so lightly at first
Getting acquainted
N then barging in with full flow…
Touching your heart at once
Washing away all the blues
Filling life with colorful hues

Rains…

They,
Along with the sweet fragrance of the earth
Bringing relief n mirth
That cool breeze of air
Oh one has to be here
To enjoy this beautiful experience dear

Bringing to every face an elongated smile
A relief filled sigh
Simple n pure joy
An unexplained high

Sweet music of the falling rain
Relaxing as a mothers touch
Smoothing out every mane
Making one want to sing
Unfettering all the pain

As it tumbles down In the night
Silent along with the moonlight
Small n big drops shining through
Falling on the earth with not a thud but a slight phew
Out from the hostel room window I view

Falling across the orange street light
The rain all lit up
Amidst the dark midnight
Makes you sit up
This panoramic sight …

A carefree song
An unknown tune
Unhummed along
Begins to hum and away it prunes
Leaving behind a tiny little smile
That reaches the eyes
Known, just there in my reach
But not yet revealed
That happiness
That unknown bliss
A song that my heart sings
The expectation of revelation of a surprise from life ahead
Something
Not yet known
Not seen
But felt
Awaiting
I hear it arrive
Soon……

Mish Mash...

My heart wants to dance like a kid
But hey the world doesn’t want me to skid
More and more responsibilities on me - oh Sigh!
All I wanted was to jump up high
They sent me to the boardroom with a tie…
Told me go grab a piece of the market sky,
Spread your wings, lets fly !!!

The work I don’t want to shirk
But sometimes the sheer endlessness does irk
All I want is a lil break,
So I can give my leg a lil shake…
I wish to spend a few more of those fleeting moments with mah friends
But the distances just don’t let that be a trend
The coffee disc bdays and just chilling is going fast out of fad
Lifez running by…ahead by more than just a tad
I just want the party to last a li…………l longer
But all I am becoming is that suit clad somber
Those numbers, rfp, bids and oh that tender
Sometimes I want to scream out “what a blunder!!”

Don’t look at me like that pal
I am just a teenage souled grown up gal 

THE JOURNEY DOWNWARDS FROM A MOUNTAIN TOP..

As I begin on my journey
Journey back to my home
I capture some last moments here
Beautiful sights plethora, not mere

The clouds sway across and paint the evening orange blue sky
Colors that blur between blue, white and grey…
Take my breath away the unending mount visage,
Standing still, portraying a timeless age,
From the ones near covered with a blanket of tall green pines,
To the ones far away, towering with snow covered white peaks, all beautiful signs
Peaks that aglow with the setting sun’s golden hue,
To be parting away fills me with rue…

The valley beneath cradles a city within,
Interspersed with home for family and kin,
Silver ‘n’ golden evening lights in there brighten up the otherwise dark sights,
From bottom of the valley to the tallest of heights.

Clouds soon begin to change their shade from light to dark,
But the sky is still all stark,
All stark except for its sole embellishment – the big silvery moon,
Shade of the sky too changes soon,
From bright clear blue to the dark dusky grey,
With an orange golden light washing it mid way,
A lone star makes an appearance,
Shows itself intense,
Communicating of feelings that make no sense…

Abode in the valley alight with hundreds of lights,
Seems to me an upside down star lit sky – a breathtaking sight...
The golden on the snow changes to silver,
Splendor such that sends down a quiver…
Awakens thoughts of someone dear
Far, yet so near…

Celion Dion sings in the background of being alive
I simply wonder who could be otherwise amidst the nature’s amazing jive ……..

The butterfly

A carefree butterfly thinking it to be a paradise flew towards the blue sky
But alas its was a glass pane
It got trapped and got stuck
After a very long time did it get out of that muck

It flew on towards the new sky
But the experience lingered on
Each time the sky turned that bitter color,
She was trapped, not in the sky,
But the warp of time,
And the memory left behind in life, oh its sly lie tie
Trials and time zones beyond
The past lingered on
Though fainter now then in the past
It still steered along
Butterfly not losing hope
Flew further on....
The bright new day welcomed it ahead
The window to a beautiful rose garden came again
This time gotten wiser it passed
And Flew further on....

Views from a pacing chug

The chug has begun
Shines outside a dull sun
The scenery is changing, fast
The city roads, rush, traffic, the crowds have disappeared
The green fields outside seem something from the past
Even they don’t last
Follows a construction site
A chimney, a small town
People looking on with a small frown
The light’s fainting away to give way to the moon
The greens arrive back soon

In this month of February
One witnesses the extended winter and the arriving spring
Dark light greens yellow and the dull browns
The crop fields
Autumned - the amidst growing trees, and lush
Oblivious to the gone by city rush
Stretches unto far, the land covered with blooming yellow mustard flowers
Sway away the young green wheat
All awaiting the April heat

A faint layer of fog
Hides amidst the far away sights
Small and distanced lights
Provide a striking sight
Seem like a star lit sky
But right here on earth, in front of my eyes

On this dark winter night
The pall of colorlessness
Soon veils the unseen sights
Inside I travel in a tunneled light
Outside I see far n fewer of such sights
Burning bright like a fire fly

A sudden blur
Some fleeting lights and color
Seems its a co traveler on the parallel rail
Making me realize the swift pace of my own ships sail
"Towards where?"
The question arises in the mind
Destination for today or
Tomorrows mid way??
All a part of my destined fate
Das all that I say mate....

Chakra Of Life

From n different directions we collated
Different goals and directions in life
Amalgated for a period of time
Cut off from the family and friends who were left behind
We came together
Stayed and bonded together
Happy Times and Sad times
Spent together
Accepting and arguing with each other as we are
Similar concerns
Similar Fights
Similar Interests
Bonds like never before
And now the winds of separation have started
Taking us with them into different directions
Different coordinates Different timezones and numerous demands on that time
Once in a blue moon meeting
Bonds would stay
but if only this could be delayed :)
Is what we all wish!

A DATE .......WITH MYSELF

It’s before dawn
Cool soothing winds blow against my face
As I still yawn
Its part light ‘n’ part dark in the outside space
Sounds can be safely put aside
The noise is on a low tide
The world is sleeping as yet
Silence and I, have met
A cuckoo sings somewhere
There’s the mechanical swoosh whoosh of the rotating fan here
A train passes by, hooting loud as it goes
And oh yea my own voice registering its woes
The voice in my head
Buried all day in a heap of hoopla around me instead
I hear what it tries to say all day
It reminds me of the coming May
A new chapter would start soon
Asking me if I am ready for the arrival of the new moon?
Asking me to look within
Any latest virtues or a committed sin?
Hmm well just to ponder, to hear,
The sound of the mind’s ocean here

Hmmm well nothing much else
Just that this Date with the self
Is nice once in a while
As a stop between the mile
Taking time to hear out
Doing away the soul pout
Clearing all doubt
Well that’s all what it’s about….
This Date ........with MySelf!

Of Being ALIVE...

After many a days along
The heart wants to hear a song
Feel a rain drop or two
Sway to a beat and do a cha cha too
Just be free
Out on a spree
Freak out
Break out
Forget the rules
‘N’ the limits

Dance
With mah friends
‘N’ forget all the fiends
Dance until the feet hurt
Until wishes the heart
Until the mind forgets
Forgets who what where and when
Remembers only times long ago with friends then…….

Sing at the top of my voice
Of my own Choice
Oh that song
Forget what is right or wrong…..
That rock
That song n shock

Feel………….not think
Bang the Head
Think of the memories past and not what lies ahead…
Of Times gone by,
Classes, parties, and dances - oh sigh!
Of matches, catches,
Snatches and Competition between 2 batches!
Of beating bottles on the balcony and the plates,
Empty copies and empty slates :P
Of shouting our throats out hoarse,
And of fun amongst the unending college chores……
Of jives, high fives

‘N’ Of being A L I V E…….

Feel….the magic

Of dance, music, friendship and the beats

A frenzy, An electricity, A heat

A Timelessness………..

Hear loadsa stuff; some worth a nickel some worth a dime.
Some will speak, some will chime..
Don’t hear them all, don’t take to heart them all
Hear some, Listen some, and filter 'em all…

Remember To
Be nice to all,
But never weak.
Be pleasant,
But also firm.

Remember
Do not accomodate ..
...for all.

Don’t see their age,
Don’t see their visage,
Don’t see their wealth or sheen,
But be sure that they are not mean.
Recognise with whom your heart connects,
Forget then the class and the sects,
Make THEM your friends for life...
You 'll have much more of care, and negligible strife,
Much more of sunshine,
N none of that whine !

Remember to have fun along this journey in time
A Lil more of sugar and....
......a lil less lime ...

The Indian Bride

The Indian Bride

Filled with fear
N excitement
Doubts n expectations
And dreams of her life ahead
Curled up into herself
She sits out there quietly.

Beautiful as ever,
Shining amidst the crowd of her relatives
She is like a POLE star
Lost in her own thoughts of afar
While the sisters, brothers and friends dance & sing
She is the only one quiet and sitting
She then smiles and gets up
Starting to join the merry ones
But then her mind drifts
Drifts away to thoughts
Thoughts of her future, the new life that awaits…
She blushes deep red,
As she thinks of the groom,
Her lips curl upwards,
Lighting her face abloom..
But then,
trickles a tear,
Down the lashes on to the cheek,
She herself doesn’t know,
If for sorrow or joy - which emotion does it speak.
She shakes her head,
Wipes the tear,
Gets up again to join the cheer.
Not pondering on the impending future,
Leaving it to the destiny mere,
Enjoying the moment, enjoying herself,
Making most of the time left with her dear…
Whilst she awaits the new life and is eager,
In her heart, along goes a prayer….
That may her new life unfold -
One day at a time,
Slowly, beautifully and peacefully,
filled with joy love and happiness,
and not any fear.

Wish...

With a guitar in my hand,
I strum a few tunes,
As it rains in the balcony,
at my old dune.

No one to company,
Just me, some randomness, music, rains ...and my tune.

The music wafts through ....

I hope it reaches a soul,
Who can sift the thought beneath all mah gibberish ...jus uncoil

As the rain cuts through this black night,
Wish if I might,
To see the above sight,
Which will make me aglow with happiness & an unexplained inner light...

....

An year - 12 Months

A month - 30 days
A day - 24 hours
An hour - 60 minutes
and in each minute - 60 seconds.

And each of these seconds you have been running...
running hard,
away or towards something,
Why??
Only your own “self” knows…
Each minute you keep yourself busy,
Not giving your soul a bit of time,
time to think..or feel..to let anything heal..
Wheres that soul of yours that was free,
The soul which sang carefree?
When was it last time that you called up a friend?
or went out with family on a weekend ?
Weeks of absence turning into months,
months into years,
and the running continues,
and still you dont give any respite..

What has happened in that you go on continuously?
Giving yourself no time to think or savor?
What has happened that you've shrunk ur emotional self into a cocoon?
What do you want to prove and to whom?
I think all this as I sit yonder…

Meanwhile, the running continues...

It goes - Fast and slow...

The world is analog and we are running in a digital world
Trying to find steps in a linear life
With me, what am I trying?
Trying to find my stand point - in life.
Trying to find an acceptance - a middle path of peaceful co-existence
Fulfilling expectations
Finding my expectations failed and dealing with them
Finding my peace of mind
Finding my center of calm
Living each day
Accepting that the life as it was yesterday, has changed
Dealing with the changes
Dealing with those left behind - caring for them
Being positive
Trying to live with out expectations
...
Trying too hard ... I think
I tell myself -
Simply 'live' ..
Make it simple
Make it uncomplicated
But it isn't ... and that reality sinks in every day
I try to hold on to my sanity and familiarity
Each day, as it changes, I try to savour close what is known..
For now - the only part which is such is my work
Which gives my life a meaning
An environment which gives me my identity, doesn't question my existence
And when it too becomes too much - a feeling of helplessness comes in
A question on the reason for my existence comes in
And however hard I try to avoid that question
It hangs .. in the air .. and increases my uncertainity and the un easiness

Sometimes it goes away, sometimes it persists... and that persistence bothers....
Patience ...Preserve the core ...keep the faith

And It continues...it goes - fast and slow
With its high and low...

diwali at vgsom

Diwali this time around was at vgsom ,iit kharagpur ... n it was awesome ...
Rangoli n ILLU ( illumination ) are contests held every year at IIT Kgp.In this competition each of the 14 halls at iit kgp have to draw a huge rangoli , depicting any theme they want. The size is like huge - can be sumthing like 10 feet by 20 feet.
and then theres illumination where using mitti diyas one has to depict a theme different from rangoli.
how is it done ? - it is done on a bamboo chatai. First of all the theme is drawn upon the bamboo chatai. then at cross points wired loops are tied . These are like hanging baskets for mitti diyas - in which oil is filled. n there upon at the time of the competition the whole scene is lit up and this has to be done within 2 minutes, cos after that the flames jus become un manageable !!!!!

n its huge - believe me its huge - n theres no limit ... minimum sizes of illu depictions that i have seen is 10 feet by 10 feet. so u can jus imagine the scale ...

n its beautiful ...

This time around MMM hall ( which has VGSOM block) is participating in the rangoli and illumination contest as one team.
All the blocks are working together and its turning out to be a good inter block interaction.

For the rangoli, India shining, optical illusion, radha krishan, mahabharat were some of the themes were discussed upon....
Finally, after a lot of brain storming and guidance from Gautam Sinha Sir, the theme was finally decided upon.
The venue for rangoli is the common room of SDS(VGSOM) block hostel itself.
N so began the Rangoli work with the drawing of the theme picture.... n buoy hats off to the sketchers - who have been able to draw on such a huge scale with such perfection.
Then came the endless color filling part n hey it’s some work!!!
Shifts of people working in the evenings, uncounted student hours n tireless work of all block students together as a team, has brought it to an almost-done shape.
The miracle is unfolding slow n steady.

Being in kharagpur this is one exp that we surely won’t forget....

On the other side of it, diya holders were readied along side ... with a record of 4000 being readied on d first day - d batch sure is enthusiastic about this event....in all only 25000 diyas were used ...

Now today they are being put up on the stand n readied for day after tomorrow ...d theme for the same is also interesting.
The theme chosen was : how iit shapes life if an iitian and how iitian shaoe this world....

Gautam Sinha sir and his wife has really guided n grilled us along with this event.
He has been here every night n been a motivating force to the batch.

Its been a bonding event and brought all of us together as a big family ... n the feeling is awesome.
Doesnt make u miss home at the special occasion of Dipawali.

Last but not the least, heres wishing you all,
A very very Happy Diwali !!!

a glimpse of it all ...
